- NAME
The Organisation shall be known as The Organisation For Curative Hypnotherapists (OCH)
- DEFINITION
Curative Hypnotherapy is the use of the relaxation of hypnosis to uncover the cause of the problem which can then be corrected, thus ensuring a complete and permanent cure.
- OBJECTIVES
- To make the public aware of Curative Hypnotherapy, its uses and benefits and to offer treatment accordingly.
- To accept into Membership practitioners whose qualifications and standard of practice conform to the requirements of the Organisation in that they use the Curative methods of Hypnotherapy.
- To maintain a Directory of Curative Hypnotherapists.
- To foster an environment of co-operation, support and advancement to continually improve the understanding and practice of Curative Hypnotherapy amongst the Membership.
- To take action as and where possible against individuals or organisations by whose actions Curative Hypnotherapy or the OCH is brought into disrepute.
- CLASSES OF MEMBERSHIP
(Throughout the Constitution all references to Member will mean both Member (MOCH) and Accredited Member MOCH(Acc))
- MEMBER
A Member is a person who has passed a written examination acceptable to the Organisation and who is a member of a recognised professional hypnotherapy association thus having access to said society’s complaints/disciplinary procedures and being bound by it’s rules and standards. Proof of valid Professional Indemnity Insurance must be provided upon application to the Organisation.
- ACCREDITED MEMBER
An Accredited Member is a person who fulfils the criteria for the category of Member, but who additionally:
- holds the Diploma in Curative Hypnotherapy of the Curative Hypnotherapy Examination Committee or an equivalent qualification, or
- provides a full case history of successful treatment of a patient. This case history to be examined/assessed by a minimum of 2 experienced Curative Hypnotherapists. If the standard is of high enough quality, Accredited Membership will be awarded for a maximum of 3 years. Unlimited re-applications will be considered.
- STUDENT
A Student Member is a person who is currently enrolled on a recognised training course, but is not yet able to fulfil the criteria in a) above. Student Membership is available for a maximum of one year.
- AFFILIATE
Anyone interested in the work and ideals of the Organisation may apply to become an Affiliate. This confers the right to attend meetings and receive information from the Organisation without having the right to advertise his/her connection with the Organisation.
- ADVERTISING OF MEMBERSHIP
Members can advertise their Membership and use the following designations:
Member:MOCH
Accredited Member: MOCH(Acc)
- THE DIRECTORY OF MEMBERS
There will be a publicly available directory providing contact details of all Members and Accredited Members.
- CERTIFICATE OF MEMBERSHIP
A Certificate of Membership, suitable for framing, will be issued. The Certificate remains the property of the Organisation and must be returned on termination of Membership and at each year end when subscriptions fall due.
- SUBSCRIPTIONS
- Members, Students and Affiliates will pay subscriptions as determined annually by the Chief Executive Officer of the Organisation.
- Subscriptions fall due annually. Failure to pay by the due date shall cause Membership to be deemed as lapsed.
- Lapsed Members wishing to rejoin will have to complete the same procedures as new Members.
- Lapsed Members must cease to advertise any connection with the Organisation and return their Certificates
- Subscriptions will include elements for the following:
- Publication and distribution of the Directory of Members
- Publication and distribution of the Curative Hypnotherapy Journal/Newsletter
- Maintenance, promotion and day to day running of the Organisation and its online presence
- CONDUCT OF MEMBERS
Members, Students and Affiliates will:
- comply with regulations for professional conduct issued from time to time by the Organisation in the Code of Conduct and Ethics
- act in such a way so as not to endanger the good name of Curative Hypnotherapy or the Organisation. Should this occur, the Chief Executive Officer shall have the power to censure, suspend or expel such a Member
- have the right to appeal censure, suspension or expulsion (see Appeals Procedure)
- not receive a refund of subscription where such action is taken against a Member.
NB:- Membership Certificate must be returned in the event of suspension or expulsion
- HYPNOTHERAPY JOURNAL/NEWSLETTER
A newsletter/journal will be issued at least once every six months, giving information available and comments from Members. Articles and letters submitted for publication shall have relevance to the Organisation’s objectives, by covering such subjects as, anything which may:
- Increase our Member’s understanding of Curative Hypnotherapy
- Assist them in spreading the acceptance of our therapy outside the confines of Membership
- Help them in their practice of the therapy itself
- Help in the day to day running of their business
- APPEALS PROCEDURE
The person concerned must put in writing their case to appeal the decision made by the Chief Executive Officer.
- The appeal to include all information relating to
- the initial incident
- the action being questioned
- full reasons for the appeal being made and
- must include any relevant supporting documentation
- On receipt of the appeal document, the Chief Executive Officer will, within 14 days, send this to the Members along with full reasons for the action which has been brought.
- The Members will then be requested to vote, in writing, to sustain or reverse the Chief Executive Officer’s decision.
- The majority decision will be final.
- Should the initial decision be upheld, the relevant hypnotherapy organisation/s to which the Member belongs shall be informed of the findings.
