How Lesserian™ Curative Hypnotherapy Came Into Being
David Lesser had a varied career before becoming a masseur in 1966. In refining his techniques of relaxation massage and learning how to teach them to others, he became interested by the interaction of mind and body, the way such deep mental effects could be achieved by the purely physical treatment of body massage.
He decided to investigate the opposite effect – that of mind over body which led him into hypnosis and then hypnotherapy.
David was intrigued as to why some people would react in a certain way to treatment, whilst other people reacted differently; some improving greatly, others only slightly and some showing no improvement whatsoever. David wanted to understand why this was the case and that need to understand ‘the why’ began his pioneering work into what eventually evolved into Curative Hypnotherapy.
The Lesserian™ Curative Hypnotherapy trademark was created in recognition and honour of David’s ground-breaking work in the field of hypnotherapy.
David founded the Therapy Training College in 1978 – the only institution in the UK which teaches Curative Hypnotherapy – and is also the author of the only two books on the Curative uses of hypnotherapy.
